The first album by English epic metal heroes Bal-Sagoth. This opus is notably different from everything that followed and has much more of a black/death metal overtone throughout, and despite the first glimpses of those trademark ‘narrative’ spoken parts, it has a darker and more understated tone that sits it comfortably alongside a lot of the black metal/occult metal releases of the day. A unique and timeless opus.
