Undoubtedly, Frozen in Fire is one of the most significant releases in the Lithuanian metal scene, reflecting the mid-'90s wild technical death metal trends as well as GHOSTORM's contribution to the genre's evolution. The album was recorded in October 1994 at the renowned Unisound studio in Sweden under the guidance of one of the most legendary producers and sound engineers of all time, Dan Swanö – widely known for his collaborations with bands like Edge of Sanity and Opeth.
Frozen in Fire is characterized by technical death metal reminiscent of bands such as Atheist.
At the time, the album received highly positive reviews for its complex compositions and technical execution. However, some extreme music critics noted that the final track, Unnormal, differed from the rest of the album's style, transitioning more into a death'n'roll style, which sparked mixed reactions among fans.
GHOSTORM is a technical death metal band from Vilnius, formed in 1992 and releasing two studio albums. Their debut album, Frozen in Fire, was released in 1995 under the Black Mark Production label.
